Castle Map Pack

hc-coolstuff.jpg

Hello again, I hope you had a good relaxing weekend. I know I sure did.

Major Nelson surprised us this morning with a treat of castles. Castle Map Pack that is.

Castles Crashed!

The third and final map pack of Halo 4 looks to be the best of all. Which needs a lot to live up to the Majestic Map Pack.

Check out the video here:

What we're in for:

Daybreak:

Two UNSC bases oppose each other in this large asymmetrical map. Teams must split focus between attacking the enemy base while playing close defense to their own. Claim your team’s sniper rifle to cover the central Man Cannon, or grab a Warthog to push through the side channels and flank the enemy base. The Rocket Launcher and Banshee both spawn in positions diagonal to the starting bases; claiming their firepower early is crucial to land the first flag cap or take an early lead in kills.

Outcast:

Controlling vehicle paths is critical in this circular map set in a desert environment. Outcast features frequent Mantis vs. Wraith battles, so teams must keep their drivers informed with constant communication to get the drop on enemy vehicles. While driving the Mantis, you can target fusion coils in tunnels to flush out camping opponents directly into your rain of fire, or cover your flag runner’s dash to a friendly Warthog. If you find yourself without a vehicle, race to the secondary bases to secure a power weapon or drop on enemies for a game-changing hijack.

Perdition:

Blending long sightlines, vehicles, and close-quarters combat, Perdition caters to nearly any gameplay style. Wheelmen and gunners will be right at home in this urban environment as a well-placed Warthog can lock down a quarter of the map, securing valuable ordnances for the team. Learning the interior routes is essential to both escaping danger and finishing off ranged kills. Be sure to look for the Gravity Hammer in Power Station 3 – an ideal revenge weapon against a pesky sniper or a big surprise for an enemy Warthog.

Till next time.

So, we should all conform to your mindset and have the same opinion as you? If a majority of people like a forge map, then it is successful, just like any other map a game developer creates.

Many people liked Hitler, but that didn't make him a good person now did it?

Just because the ignorant masses of sheep bleat and brah on about a map being great does not make it great...

I thought Hitler was pretty good... at painting. For the most part, his policies were pretty awesome. Shame it all got overshadowed by his, you know, all those unforgivable things he did.

I said successful, not great. Quality and popularity are two completely different things.

Then why are you debating this with me? I was talking about quality and you address my dislike of particular maps with the fallacious logic that other people like them, so I must be wrong.

I don't like most forge maps. I don't like most of the dev maps since H2. And christ have mercy, I most certainly don't like most forgers. Bunch of sniveling self entitled little shits for the most part.... But honestly, what do you expect from a bunch of introverts.

Because your comment that most maps "out right blow" is your opinion, yet you condemn others for not thinking the same way. And aside from that, your condescending comments and generally rude attitude isn't working for you. Belittling people and making stereotypes about your fellow forgers just because they're different and not as picky as you isn't helping you win your arguement.

You're never satisfied with any maps and hate the people that play the game and come on the forums. So why are you even involved still? If all you do is complain about the game, its maps, and its community, then what's the point of staying? Try seeing things from other peoples perspectives, or try opening your mind to be a bit more accepting of what's out there. Who knows? People might actually start listening to you then.

But honestly, what do you expect from a bunch of introverts.
Practically every scientific and technological advance since the 1400s or so? Just about every website, game, or gadget you've been able to enjoy? This website? You can directly attribute the high quality of your life to introverts.

As a sidenote, reading a book doesn't entitle your opinion to mean more than anybody else's, just like having a "degree in level design" doesn't mean anything. The only way to be entitled to that is to argue clearly "this is a bad design, and this is why", or to have been successful to prove your opinion (and I think you'll find people who have been successful still argue their points rather than go "THIS SUCKS BECAUSE I SAID SO")

I just watched the walkthrough video of Outcast.... Have fun BTB kids. Supposedly the map was designed to be dominated by "power vehicles", but virtually 90% of the map looks like a death trap to any one driving one. And the sheer amount of clutter on the map! You've got "cubby holes" left and right, all kinds of nooks and crannies to hide in, and lazy cover out the freaking wazooo.

Do these fucktards at CA have any idea what they're doing?

I hate to be one of these kids but the developer maps in Halo 4 aren't the best, no one votes for anything except haven or exile, the good maps all seem to be coming from the community... but its natural that 343 will improve and make better maps in Halo5... plus they might add in an extra mappack for halo4 with some old favorites
