THE FORGE
gamermaniavp.weebly.com
What do you think my first map should be for Halo 5 Guardians in the forge?
Let me know what you think in a comment out of these options below...
I will give you some description of each map...

(MAP 1) Will be a map like Beaver Creek but a bit large with a nice natural jungle look and some caves and and beautiful base structures for red and blue team that will be the exact same...

(MAP 2) The map will rest on the sides of cliffs and built into them with a odd village look from another world with a clean but fun flow around the map...

(Map 3) Halo 3 Guardian style map with a all new layout and look...

(Map 4) A remake of a unfinished BTB map from H2A MCC, it has a large orbital cannon mounted in a base in the center, and nice flow around the structure to each primary bases with great sniping moment and under ground paths for the close quarters combat...

(Map 5) A remake of a Far Cry 3 map of mine that was a Ancient Chinese Building, But the remake will be a Ancient Alien structure with indoor and out door area's also having a fun multi level map...

I got around to coloring it. Still looking for pointers.

• Watch the lengthy LoS down the sides. Try breaking them up with curved geometry (i.e. Haven) or verticality.
• The Ghost is interesting, but it adds another layer of questions to ask yourself. How do I want the Ghost to traverse the map compared to infantry? How can it be countered? etc.
• Two camo's is one too many in my opinion; especially when they're in such close proximity to one another.

Looks good so far.

Yeah, I've already been thinking about most of those. But those aren't invisis. They are grav lifts. Haha. I see how you confused them though.

I have a sick idea for when forge and if infection comes to Halo 5. If the new forge allows me to, I would like to make a a map where the infection come from meteorites that break apart when they hit the ground, releasing the infected to cause havok against any survivors. As for the layout of the map, I would probably do some sort of research facility/military base.
And that's why the new Forge is awesome! Because things like this now seem possible.

It would definitely make for a cool cinematic opening of the match. I hope you'll be able to pull it off.

Forge is out! Aside from wrapping your heads around the new systems and controls, what are you all working on?

I'm getting my feet wet with some updates to Guillotine. I'm also planning to work with The Fated Fire to realize our original vision for the map which became Recurve. I have more ideas, too.

Can't wait to see that! Cause the Recurve that is out now is sadly my least favorite map :/

I'm working on a vertical asym 4v4 for Strongholds and Slayer which is inspired by my past maps Cargo Port, Exchange, and Skydock. I'm hoping to have the mass out completed in the next couple of days.

Worked on 2 versions of the hunger games, and some star wars maps (btw The Force awakens was awesome)

For the hunger games the first is called THE 74TH HUNGER GAMES (its a very challenging hunger games map with a very simple idea, the map is small with a cornucopia and trees. Its not suppose to be big, its suppose to be small so each round can end faster and no one would have to wait but theirs a catch to the whole game. The camera is placed as FOV-IN which narrows down the players vision so they cant see whats left or right of them until they turn to that direction. Some players i tested the game with said they hated it, its too focused but too be honest i actually enjoy having that vision. It makes it very hard to actually see or kill someone makes it feel like your really seeing there perspective on battles. To kill someone you actually have to look and hit them. So to the players who hate on that option then stfu your just heated because its too hard or whatever excuse you'll use. On the map theirs only one weapon you can grab and that weapon is the energy sword THATS IT. In order to play the game right you need the hunger games game-type that i made to play. If youll like to play it send me a msg on live : Forerunner06

The next map made is
THE 75TH HUNGER GAMES (this map is the same as the 74th but the arena has changed to a watery version, same view as the other map. But if you still hate the view because you suck at it then theres THE 75TH HUNGER GAMES 1.5 with FOV-OUT, basically normal view for those whiners who complain. and if you think ''hey how come you didnt do that for the 74th one'' well its simple, that game became glitched where it wont let you spawn in forge to fix anything so i just left it alone, and couldnt make an easier version for the babies so toooo bad only the skilled ones would play the real 74th one.

The next map i made which is only team based is
STAR WARS EP7 REALISTIC (the realistic version has the camera like the hunger games one, the objective is simple kill the enemy team in a snowy woodland place. Blue team is the First Order while red team is the Resistance. The weapons each team has is a plasma rifle and plasma pistol. With one hit you die instantly thus making re spawn on instant. The map is small to mid size compared to which setting is it played on. for the realistic one you'll already know how different it would be. the game is up to 16 players and the game mode needed is called STAR WARS which im still tweaking

Aside from that version there is also
STAR WARS EP 7/STAR WARS EP 7 1.5 in those two versions its the same map but different visions, one being FOV-OUT, and the other is normal

The next map is called
STAR WARS EP7 OPENING (in this map its basically the opening of the movie but with changes due to some things i wont spoil. The map is small and theirs only two different versions of it. the FOV-IN and the normal version. FIRST ORDER vs Resistance, for slayer) keeping it short not described for no spoils

thats pretty much it for those maps, which are still being tweaked. there not godly amazing but are not poor either, its more like in between. all of it just basic slayer

Right now im also working on a map called blood bane set for space combat, and more coming

I'm stuck on Halo 4, currently working on a Salvation map based on Temple by MrPokephile (I'm practically finished, just that I might add another teleporter for Flood).

So if anyone wants to help me playtest Version 242 of that Temple map, let me know. Most people that play Flood on H4 nowadays are sadly clueless as to what Salvation even is.

More on the Salvation map:
First a reference video:
The story is that a team of Spartans must infiltrate a recently overrun UNSC base before the Flood can access the AI inside.

I don't have pictures but I'm going to assume you all know what Temple looks like, at least from the video. It pretty much has unchanged aesthetics except for a few nice details.

Initial spawn is behind the default Temple initial spawn, down the ramp. There's a soft kill there to prevent AFK from ruining the game.
Phase 1 is up where the default Spartan spawn is, it's a Rescue phase which lasts 45 seconds. Players can detach a Turret and use it for more ammunition (it has to be detached because otherwise it can't get a line of sight). This phase is really important because you need to conserve ammo. Flood approach from 3 areas. The main area is at 0:04 in this video
other areas are right above the Spartans, and from the wall behind the crate which is to the left of the player at 1:44. There's a DMR ordnance on that crate. A gravity volume paired with a small bit of an incline sticking out of the ground prevent players from leaving this initial area.

After Phase 1, you move up the ramps to the next room. Here is a Warthog, ammunition, and a pair of terminals. One of the terminals is where the SAW spawns in Hivemind (on the wall) and takes ten seconds to activate. The other is in the large room with a Shotgun. It takes about 30 seconds to activate. After activating both terminals the shield doors (one of two Flood spawns for this phase) deactivate and allow you to pass through.

Phase 3 involves a simple Beacon escort from that main Phase 1 Flood spawn to the area where Spartans drop down into the level below (1:04 in the video)- this is now covered up by rocks. So the beacon acts as a bomb- I used it instead of a Bomb because I didn't want the bomb's timer.

Phase 4 is insane (and I don't think I'm biased). It captures the whole essence of the map as you defend a generator (actually is 3 layered generators) from the Flood (for two minutes), at the site where the Beacon was planted. What makes this phase so insane is the fact that the Flood will spawn on the roof above you about 90% of the time, the other 10% spawning in the pit at 0:53 in the video. It's a whole lot of fun- Flood are raining down from above and you're spraying them down with your ARs, your SAW (if you survive long enough this resupplies), and if you're smart the Warthog chaingun. This is where I got my Invincible. I would show the video of that Invincible here, but apparently Temporary History is pretty temporary.

So anyways. IF you successfully conquer those two minutes of fiery hell, the bomb explodes behind you. Don't worry, I used tons of visual functions to make a really sexy explosion. It even blasts you away. Quickly descend into the room below for Phase 5- if you're last squad standing, make sure you descend together because if someone dies up top there's no way to revive him.

Phase 5 is another Rescue phase, the holdout room shown at 1:20 in the video. Remember that the Warthog can be taken down here. The path to the left, at 1:13, is at this time blocked off, along with the initial Spartan Spawn (which later becomes a Flood spawn) and the door at 1:23. In this room you can buy an AR. It's sort of a breather... not really, but in comparison to Phase 4. Flood's only route is the same way you came in from. After holding out there for 45 seconds, the door at 1:23 opens up, along with the area at 1:13. Advance into the final room, where there is a Regeneration Field, mounted turrets etc. Activate a yellow AI, which takes one second. This activates three Sentry Turrets and triggers the final phase- me and my playtesters have only reached this phase once (and we beat it). This final phase has Flood come at you from your initial spawn and the same drop-down they've been coming down from for the last couple of phases. There is a territory within the boundaries of the 3 Sentry Turrets that you must stay in for 45 seconds. A small, frequently moving haven migrates to different places in this territory and provides Dexterity as well as other minor benefits. You must defend at least one of the generators, which are linked to Sentry Turrets such that destroying a generator destroys its turret, until you capture the rescue zone in order to beat the final Phase.

I also incorporated 4 Needlers as easter eggs. If you download the map, you should try to obtain them.

So if you're interested, my GT is gcw0068 and the map will probably be up within a couple of days (it's not uploading right now for some reason, that happens every once in a while).

Anyways... sorry for the long post.
