Halo 5 Custom Game Suggestions

Halo 5 has been out for some time now (can you believe it?) and so have custom games. However, now that forge is here I'm sure most of us have finally been able to reach our hands into the settings and features of custom games in Halo 5. Some of the settings we're given are extensive while on the other hand are also underwhelming, therefore this thread is for anybody to suggest new features, settings, changes, etc. to Halo 5's custom games. This is NOT a list for requesting the return of existing Halo gametypes. The list of suggestions below will eventually be sent to the right people at 343 Industries to ensure each suggestion will be considered.

Got any ideas? Then start suggesting!


UI settings:
  • Return of setting to set player number cap for lobby
  • Ability to disable display of scoreboard and mini scoreboard in-game
  • Ability to toggle display of kill-feed in-game
  • Ability to toggle display of specific HUD elements in-game
  • Expand player limit to 24 players, similar to Warzone, instead of 16 players

General settings:
  • Return of setting to toggle team changing mid-game
  • Return of setting to toggle multiple starting loadout classes tailored by the gametype author (similar to Halo: Reach)
  • Return of team-specific traits
    • Example: Red team can't jump but Blue team can
  • Ability to set player jump height to '0%'
  • Ability to choose REQ weapons for player starting weapons and on-map weapons

Gametype specific settings:
  • Ability to disable Flagnum from flag carriers in Capture the Flag gametype

The following below are suggestions listed that will be/are already added into Halo 5's customs
UI Setting:
  • Return of ability to change teams mid-game

Ability to switch teams in game (can be turned off and on via gametype options)
An option to allow players to spawn in game with one weapon (can be toggled off and on via game type options)

Wait.....I have 2 gametypes now in H5. Players spawn with only a shotgun in both of them. Did I "break" the game or something? I didn't even know this was an issue.

Both gametypes are Strongholds variants so maybe there's a glitch where you can only set the secondary weapon to "none" in Strongholds. Can anyone check on this?

What I really want is team specific traits back from H2A (ex: defenders can't jump, but attackers can). Those were amazing for minigame forgers. The lack of team specific traits as well as trait zones makes team based minigame forging difficult.


Oh oh oh and 0% jump height!

There is no 'None' option but can set both primary and secondary weapons to the same weapon, however I believe this gives the player extra starting ammo (don't quote me on this though).
