You just wasted a perfect guess there, but ah well.
The contest thing will end soon, but the person who gets the exact number wins, and if nobody gets it, the person who was closest to it wins.
Guessing at the last possible moment does nothing to increase your chances...

Nah, it increases my chances because, looking at everyone else's guesses, I can choose the most extreme, meaning that there are more numbers closest to mine than to everyone else's. For example, if everyones' numbers fell between 0 and 500, I'd just choose 501. This way, anything between 501 and 777 would bring me to victory. By the way, I've edited my previous comment and added a guess.
