You like games. You like Halo. Well, just recently 343 Industries just announced "Halo Spartan Assault" along with a debut trailer. This game will be a top-down touchscreen shooter which will tell the story of Sarah Palmer and others before the events of Halo 4. However, it will only be available for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. Release date: July 2013.

Available only for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, Halo: Spartan Assault is a new top-down action shooter that brings a Halo video game to touch-based devices for the first time in franchise history. Developed by 343 Industries in conjunction with Vanguard Games, Halo: Spartan Assault provides an accessible, pick-up-and-play experience for fans and newcomers alike.

Set between the events of "Halo 3" and "Halo 4," "Halo: Spartan Assault" is a new chapter of the award-winning "Halo" universe that explores the first missions of the Spartan Ops program and dives deeper into the backstory of Human-Covenant wars. Play through the eyes of either Commander Sarah Palmer or Spartan Davis stationed aboard the UNSC Infinity as they fight never-before-seen battles against Covenant forces.

With rich storytelling, intuitive controls, and best-in-class action, audio and graphics, "Halo: Spartan Assault" brings the epic scale and action of the "Halo" universe to mobile devices through unrivaled action and intensity.

PC gaming is quite diverse and alot of pc gaming has wanted another Halo game on PC since H2 vista , although I don't think they got what they asked for. Its a shame though as I would love to play this game but of course that's extremely unlikely..

Halo is not Xbox. Halo is Microsoft's way of pushing platforms.

Halo CE came out for Xbox One (Oh whoops, Xbox Original ) and became a console seller.
Halo 2 Came out for PC, but on Vista EXCLUSIVELY, making people want to switch to Vista, and play some Halo 2 online! (Even though vista was bin material. )
Now, with Halo Spartan assault, they are pushing the WIndows 8 OS EXCLUSIVELY.

So yeah, as fans of halo, you should be used to trying out of Microsoft's failed experiments.

Halo 5 has been in development since(approximately) 2011, different teams are used for different things. This could even be new people hired by Microsoft or 343i, specifically for this.
