Hey guys, welcome to part 2 of the official BIOC Flood map database - where you can find all the very best Flood maps to play in your custom game sessions. In this thread you can find all the Free Roam/Holdout maps, the Holdout maps, the Linear Progression maps and the Universal Gametypes.

Understanding the maps in the database
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The BIOC Flood map database accommodates many Flood maps all built in different styles. Different styles of maps change how the player moves around and plays. It is important that a player understands the three main branches of Flood maps and how they generally play. In Part 1 we have covered all Free Roam maps; in Part 2 we will be taking a look at the other types of Flood maps: Free Roam/Holdout, Holdout and Linear Progression.

Free Roam/Holdout
A hybrid of a free roam and a holdout map. The map features either a number of buildings designed to be held out in until the end of the round (Lone Spirits Pass) or a free roam map with a dominant holdout area/building (Infected Ravine).

Holdout
The very smallest and most simple of infection maps fall under the Holdout category. As the name suggests, survivors just have to hold out and fend off the hordes, typically taking place in some sort of building, with Flood attacking from the outside. There isn't much exploration in the map; not too much movement. Defend the House maps are a category of Holdout; so is Last Stand.

Linear Progression
Often the largest types of Flood maps fall under the category of linear progression. These maps generally have an objective, end goal, or 'safe room' to reach before all the survivors are infected. These maps use timed teleporters for zombie spawns, timed doors and small caches of weapons. Lots of movement; not too much exploration.

Universal Game Types
These gametypes can work with many maps, and are favoured by much of the community.

Braindead - Created by REMkings
Gametype to be used on Linear maps. Provides highly fast paced gameplay and allows zombies to sprint infinitely.

Hivemind - Created by The Flood community
Game-type created for War Games to be used with custom maps. Humans start with ARs and Magnums and can pick up ordnance placed on the map.

Last Stand - Created by PA1NTS & SIERRA420
For Nazi Zombie style maps. No jumping. Headshots enabled. Zombies have more movement options than humans.

Necrosis - Created by Mr Pokephile
Strong, slow Flood. Creates slower but tenser gameplay.

On the Move - Created by REMkings
Especially created for Drive or Die maps. Humans have access to vehicles. Zombies are fast and strong, and have the ability to sprint.

Phagein - Created by Pol Wah
Humans have Promethean Vision, but lack a motion sensor. Flood have weak camouflage.

Plague - Created by AbandonedCashew
Advanced modded community gametype that enables a lot of options and possibilities previously believed impossible. Zombies may choose between several classes and slow infection can be turned on. Doors can be opened, gates can be built. Especially suitable for Linear maps.

The Beast Within - Created by REMkings
A spiritual successor to zm_Outbreak from Halo Reach. Humans can pick up ordnance and normal weapons, and may also drive vehicles. Zombies have the ability to sprint.
