Color Dash

Reach Color Dash 2021-09-02

Incredibly well crafted minigame.

It's "simon says" with random colors. The difficulty ramps up and before long you won't be able to survive.

Pros:
- Looks awesome. Love the colors.
- Great casual game. Really accessible to a lot of players, since it doesn't rely on aiming.
- The colors actually seem random. I don't know whether they truly are, but they're different enough that nobody memorized the pattern.
- Spectating respawns are cool, especially because they're close enough that you can see the names of who is surviving.

Cons:
- Red and orange are hard to distinguish for everyone. This isn't really bad, as they are different when you get better at telling them apart. But part of me thinks a "reduced colors" map would do better here, as then it's less about telling the minor differences between colors.
- The light is colored pink but the palette is purple. Maybe that's just a problem in the base game, but some colors are kind of... "not what they seem".
- Sometimes (I think when all players die at the same time) the game doesn't end after everybody loses. It goes on until the timer ends. This happens infrequently but can be confusing on the first game.
- You can kind of "cheese" the game by waiting on the border between 4 palettes. This gives you a high chance of surviving even if you forget which of the 4 colors it is.
