The "behavior" you seek to promote with this thread is, for a lack of words, impossible. People will always have their gripes with particular custom games, no matter what Halo game your playing. The most recent installment just happens to be the most intolerable to most people and you really have to expect that here.

Asking people not to complain or be negative at all is a fool's pursuit. Especially in a video gaming environment.

In a Halo environment, negativity will always be there one way or another. What happens when the host puts on a horrible map? How do you think any sensible Halo player will react to that? What about playing the same map over and over again despite the majority of the party wanting to play something different? What about people who give criticism when there's something wrong/negative about the map being played?

I respect what you're trying to say with this post, but almost all people, like myself, who try to be as positive as possible in custom lobbies still end up having their moments of negativity which emerge almost like a reflex. It's worse for those who have been part of the community longer, since the quality of each Halo game has gone down in the community's eyes with each new edition to the series.

My advice is a bit more feasible: don't let the negativity of others in a customs lobby ruin the fun for yourself. If someone else is acting or behaving in a way that you don't appreciate in a lobby, just ignore them. Also, the mute option is in the game for a reason if you just don't want to hear somebody.

Again, I admit that I may have my negativity show face in custom lobbies, but I'm not wrong when I say that the point you've made here is not anything new or special. Sorry.

"Oh great, I´m zombie again..."
"Oh come on! There was so much lag there!! How could you even kill me!?"
"The reason why I don´t like this game, is..."

Figured these were applying to me. And no offence Buddy, but if I want to say these things in a custom lobby, I'm going to. I don't mean to "run down" the lobby by stating such an expression, I only mean to express my true feelings of the game at that point. Because I know people can probably relate to it. They are usually shared by everyone else in the lobby anyway as they go through the same experience. If anything, they're meant to build up the lobby. They're not indicating a lack of respect, decency or sociability. I'm not offending someone by saying "how the heck did you kill me there", I'm being bothered by the game and usually the guy who killed me teases me because of it and we laugh it off. There's more fun in that than is there true annoyance.
Me getting mad at Halo 4 is how I play a usual game of Halo 4 - along with the fun times of course - because the one reason I would hate Halo 4 is the fact that it's effectively killing the fun experience due to the heavy amounts of lag. It was already pretty terrible in Halo Reach but it's even worse in Halo 4 and it's the one thing that can get me mad. There's however no intention whatsoever to offend people or to kill the mood by doing that. I'm surprised you felt that way if you did.

But it's always good to keep in mind what you say and how it can be perceived by people, so in a sense I think it's good to be reminded of actions like these.

Yeah, I agree with both you and Debbie. It hurts me when people say negative things out of nowhere, or just about the map. But, the only way to effect this a bit is to say it in the lobby threads, like saying not to be really negative. But, in any gaming community, there will be negativity. Like in COD, everyone turns on each other and get into a riot. Or should I say, a Running Riots :p . But seriously, I'm not comparing the COD community with the Halo community. That's one of the reasons we are against each other, because of the negativity in one of them. And we know which one I'm talking about with the negativity. Anyways, this is a good lobby thread, but it is presented for a small scale. It probably not the people's fault for saying negative things. The host probably put on a really bad map, or there is a disagreement. In my last lobby, I felt disappointed. Nobody wanted to listen to STEELGREEN03 when we were testing our map out in the end. Nobody would listen to him, even though he was the co-host to it. That is something to probably to talk about, non listeners in lobbies. I'm not sure if you were there or you were involve, but I'm not being offensive. The best thing to make a thread like this is when the Halo community is going down with a lot of negativity. I have been recently seeing people arguing and trolling a lot on HC, even when they could help the person get better. I really have to thank Zeroflame, Great Mist, SplaterMaster, and many others with helping me be a really well known host today. Like I said, this is a good thread, but very limited with other problems. I have to apologize that I do this at certain points, complaining a bit here and there in lobbies. I try to be positive, but I'm practically born a rager :p Literally, I pretty get competitive when I play competitive games without talking. So, this is my review, without any offense

Everyone understands what I mean. Everyone knows that I´m from Germany and my English skills.

So why not keep trolling on your channel and stay away from this thread with your "righteous" comments to gain vogue? Thank you. :fuzzle:

Nice that you guys think about it. That was my goal.

The question that I always ask myself: "How could I make the lobby funnier by saying sth/not saying sth ?"

Because sometimes saying nothing is better for everyone, you know? :)

I didn't need to restate anything that was already said in this thread, therefore I brought up something I had seen.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion in a lobby. If some players do not enjoy something in my lobby, I will try my best to attempt to fix it and not just let them "suffer" through it because they're considered "stupid whiners."

No, he was only saying that if only ONE person is complaining, then it's a bit of a problem. If some, or the whole lobby was complaining, then that's no problem. It's the maps fault

You guys are right. But what if constantly people in a lobby complain about everything? Good maps turn into bad maps. That´s what´s happening.

Don´t get me wrong. If the map is REALLY bad, you should complain. But I´m talking about decent maps.

If there is only one person doing it then you should perhaps try to talk him/her about it, give him a warning, etc etc.

The best way to deal with it is ignore it. Rarely i get the issue because i play the best maps *cough* as usual. However when i do get the issue i don't make a big deal out of it unless the person continues to make a point of it. At which i will make a friendly warning. At the end of the day the game mode lasts 10 minutes at best. Dont like it? Leave. Just because one person doesn't like something does that mean i should end it and switch the map. To be fair if its a testing lobby then maps are more likely to suck, i play popular maps that i know people will enjoy ^.^
