Triggering nighttime

has anyone tried making a timed trigger to change the ambiance to night time with an FX?

or a zone trigger (you enter the zone) and an FX changes the ambiance to something funky?

Sounds like it should be perfectly possible. But like you, I don't have the game so I can only guess.
