343 released a statement today issuing their plans to make up for Halo: the Master Chief Collection's rough release and ongoing issues, detailing free bonuses for Halo fans who played the collection from launch until today. The short and sweet: MCC early adopters (from launch until Dec. 19) will receive for free:
In the next update:
- 1 Month Xbox Live Gold
- Exclusive in-game nameplate
- Exclusive in-game avatar
Sometime in Spring 2015 (take from that what you will):
- "Remastered" Halo 3: ODST campaign (1080p 60 fps). No plans yet for firefight, terminals, or other related content (I wouldn't be too optimistic)
- H2A Re-imagining of the Relic Multiplayer map (aka the one H2A remake everybody is probably forging right now)
343 hasn't shared whether or not players who pick up the MCC after today will need to pay for the ODST remaster, but they have confirmed that the Relic map remake will be available for everyone in a future patch (a-la Forge Island).
