News HC Weekly Recap: August 18th 2015

This weeks Halo Bulletin didn't have alot of new information but it did discuss some more of the design behind the heads up displays for both Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris. One point of interest was the fact that there will only be one universal HUD design for matchmaking regardless of what helmet you are wearing.

Although the Halo Bulletin didn't reveal much, both Cannon Fodder and IGN revealed a few more arena maps. The arena maps that were briefly shown off included Coliseum which you may remember from the MS Press Conference at Gamescom, The Rig which is a mining station high above a glassed human colony. This particular map is heavily focused on player movement as well as utilizing your new Spartan Abilities. Finally we have our last arena map, Plaza, which is set in a futuristic urban environment. On top of those maps being revealed, another Warzone map called March on Stormbreaker which will feature the Elite commander from Halo Wars, Re'gish Wamik. You may remember this particular Elite as the one that spoke to Arbiter when they tried to open the Forerunner Relic on Harvest. There wasn't much in the way of footage but we do have a few screenshots that we can show off.

Red vs Blue
Spoilers Ahead!

On this weeks Red vs Blue, the aftermath from the Battle of Armonia has left some wounds all to fresh. Doyles heroic sacrifice may have bought our group of misfits sometime but it has also lead to a few issues, one of which happens to be that the Federal Army of Chorus thinks that Kimbell just left Doyle to his fate. On top of that, most of the New Republic and Feds are now scattered across the planet with no goal as to what to do next.

Church comes back online after saving the Reds and Blues during a nuclear explosion that killed most of the space pirates, with the help of Carolina of course. Theta, Delta as well as an angrier fragment that could possibly be a remnant of Agent Texas, run diagnostics to figure out how bad the damage is. Surrounded by friends, Church composes himself and asks where the group are to which Carolina walks outside to reveal that the group have arrived back at Crash Site Bravo.

Eventually, Kimbell decides its time to get back on the saddle and she delivers hell of a speech that rallies the troops. Due to losing most of their munitions and fire power during the nuclear explosion the Reds and Blues have limited fire power. Kimbell reminds the group about the alien armory that they had visited before which might be of some use now.

Felix, now in control of the alien relic, wants to activate the cleansing as soon as possible but Locus disagrees. He doesn't want to sacrifice the rest of his men as they now look up to both of them and trust them. Felix shrugs it off and then leaves to go and talk to 'command'.

On top of that, MoreConsole uploaded a video which has shown us a new armor perk called PvE Void Armor. Whether or not its a place holder name remains to be seen however the perk itself reduces any incoming void damage by x1. If you don't like the sound of that then you'll also have another perk to choose from called Void Armor which gives +1 to all void builds. This will be extremely help for nightfalls that have a void burn on and to a lesser extent, some raids that have enemies that deal void damage.

The cloak that was shown in the video (once upgraded) will allow you to increase the rate in which level up certain weapon types. The examples shown in the video were both scout rifles and sidearms. This will be extremely handy for leveling up some of the newer gear that we'll be getting.

Bungie also released a video today which confirms alot of the information that we've currently been speculating. It is nice to see how we'll be able to buy new ghost shells. No more plain old boring Ghost shells! Check it and out let me know what your thoughts are down below.

Rockstar Reductions

Addy: Another week has passed and once again the 360 sale seems pretty great in comparison to what is pretty 'meh' over on Xbox One, spotting a trend here?

But yes as mentioned the Xbone sale is pitiful with the retail titles on sale all being much cheaper as a physical release even after the reductions in price offered. I did spot one title that made me chuckle though; Zumba Fitness Exhilarate Body Shaping System, I really feel that all this game needs at this point is the word "Extreme" at the end of it's title and some 80's style packaging. If for some unknown reason you fancy picking up this kinect-only fitness 'game?', it's available this week at a Totally Radical 33% off!

Over on the 360 however there's a wide selection of titles on offer, mainly consisting of Tom Clancy titles and as well as Rockstar Games and their respective DLC's. My only legitimate recommendation this week is Red Dead Redemption along with it's complete DLC bundle, both of which are 75% off. It's worth noting this is currently the second highest voted for title for backwards compatibility on Xbox One so it might be worth picking this one up if you own both systems.

As per the usual you can find the complete content of this week's sale below;

Time to Meet Your Maker

Shoe: As of Saturday August 15th, the submission period for the third Meet Your Maker Period is officially complete. We want to thank everyone who worked hard on a squad map these past few months! We have already begun the judging process and will be holding lobbies over the next few weeks while we decide which maps have come out on top. Expect results sometime in September.

Thanks guys. This weeks community content spotlight goes to iSpiteful for showcasing Hall of Torment by TheMurdockMan. Hall of Torment goes as far back as Halo 3 but became quite popular during Halo Reach. Be sure to grab a group of friends and check it out as its a super fun mini game.

Anyway guys, that does it for this week.
Until next time,
Snack

You got the character from Halo Wars incorrect. It's actually that one elite from the first cutscene that Arbiter was talking with. A guy named Field Master Re'gish Wamik.
