I bet it will be safe to say Halo on Xbox 360 will be dead sometime in 2015.

As we get closer to release, lets hope 343 doesn't tell us everything we want, spiced to the finest detail, and then hand us a poop for the real thing. After your game goes from 400,000 to 20,000 you should know that you should stop listening to your blabbering mouth and start listening to your community.

and your

Good move by 343 with taking Bungies masterpiece and putting it all together and adding things like co-op and better graphics and whatnot.

They probably made Microsoft happy by making it so that alot of people will buy their xbox one.

There is evidence to believe that Master Chief will not be the main hero of Halo 5 and future titles. Some of the trailers show a new Spartan, who will likely take the place of our favorite old-timer in green armor. Also, the title of the "master chief collection" for xbone suggests that the collection contains all of the Halo games that featured the Chief. Since the collection does not include Halo 5, that may suggest that he is not present in, or is not the main character of the game.

Agent Locke, the new character you are referring to, will likely act as a "buddy" character similar to the Arbiter's role in Halo 3 or perhaps as a secondary main character similar to the Arbiter's role in Halo 2. Some speculate that this agent is tasked with tracking down Chief after Chief has gone rogue, but that the two will later team up. The reason the Master Chief Collection does not include Halo 5 is because Halo 5 will not be released for another year after the collection's release. Now is the best time to release the collection, as it will bring Halo player's to the Xbox One and mark the ten year anniversary of Halo 2.

Halo 5 is included even if it's just in the form of a beta.

That's true, but why else would they name it so? By the conventions of such nomenclature, the package would be given a title that represents something that is not only shared by their contents but also unique to them. In this case, that would be Master Chief. Seems to me that if Chief is to be the man in Halo 5, then they'd choose a different name for the package.

343 seems to be looking to make a ton of changes to Halo for the next generation installment, and I wouldn't be surprised if losing the Chief is to be one if them. Besides, he's getting old anyway- I think he's like 48 at this point after Halo 4.

Also evergreen, the beta is only multiplayer, in which the Master Chief could not possibly be present.

Losing the Chief will not happen. Losing Cortana (for all we know at this point in time) was quite a risk that 343i pulled. I don't see the Halo series ever having a Game of Thrones type of writing where any main character can get killed off at any time. I'm sorry but to me, assuming that the Master Chief will be replaced in Halo 5 because of the name "The Master Chief Collection" sounds like HaloFollower speculation.

So... Who the fuck is Agent Clark Locke?

Also, this Agent fellow isn't on Earth (since when he looks out the window, there's all kinds of Forerunner shit going down)... and if you look closely enough, at that scene, you can see the Arbiter in his Visor's reflection.
I just don't think this dude is particularly human.

Also, why would Chief's past hold the secrets to their future?

Locke is assumedly a guy who's basically an ONI mook looking for Chief. We assume that the stuff we see from the window is the Sangheili homeworld, since it matches the environments described, we see Arby, and the concept art also hints at the desert world being Sanghelios. He's gonna be more-fleshed out and given backstory with Halo: Nightfall.

As to the past and secrets, I think you've mistaken 'seeds' for 'secrets'. The seeds of the future are sown in his past; or, in layman's terms, 'if chief didn't do his stuff in the past we'd all be dead right now'

Ok, but that doesn't explain why Locke looks like a chick, and walks around in Spartan armour.
Understandably, the armour for Spartan 3s were drastically downscaled to allow for less rigorous genetic modification, and Spartan 4s were even more so downscaled to allow for almost ordinary soldiers to use the armour... but this dude looks as muscular as Paris Hilton (in armour)... Is Locke going to be the first of a Spartan 5 generation?

I get that his seeds were sewn, and that makes a lot of sense. Albeit, it seems very unnecessary to mention, since every body knows who he is and what his contributions were to mankind. All of the covenant knew him as the Demon. All of mankind knew him as Master Chief, the first televised Spartan (Halo 2, first mission)... why would they bring that up?

I'm really pumped for this. The community has been crying for so long about how the older games were better, and now they will get to play them again. I'm excited to play games like halo 2 online since I never got to do that back when the game was popular. I've heard such good things, I just hope it lives up to the hype.

I can guarantee Halo 2 multiplayer will have lots and lots of complaints, because Fanboys.
I'm psyched for H3 most of all though, and the new 1-50 rating system, making the games more rewarding!
