Sup guys, I'm Astiir This is my portfolio , filled predominantly with incomplete maps but yeaaa I think it's awesome to look back on my old maps and projects, see where I went wrong and see what I did right. I'll keep this post simple and short, enjoy : )
Name: Seraphim
Player Count: 4-8
Gametype: Slayer, KotH
Seraphim was essentially my first map in Halo4. This map was really just me messing about with forge and discovering the new objects. I enjoyed making it however I never made a playable version of the map...
Name: Sepia
Player Count: 2-4
Gametype: Slayer, KotH
Then there was Sepia, an inversely symmetrical 2v2 map. I ended up abandoning the design as I wasn't really satisfied that it would play well.
Name: Alma
Player Count: 2-4
Gametype: Slayer, FFA
Alma was a map I made soon after Seraphim and Sepia, however I didn't really think much about the design. Unsurprisingly the map had a lot of issues, issues that I never fixed. Though I can definitely say Alma has been a good stepping stone for me as a forger, much thanks to Auburn and Spincycle for all their helpful advice.
Name: Warlock
Player Count: 4-8
Gametype: Slayer
Certainly a map I enjoyed making and testing. It wasn't great looking and it played just OK but it was a fun build.
Name: Glade
Player Count: 2-4
Gametype: Slayer
Glade was the first map I really attempted to apply the advice I had received from previous maps. Although in the end it didn't plan out how it was intended, with a lack of height variation and a generic layout.
Name: Forunner Mayhem
Player Count: N/A
Gametype: Minigame
'Forunner Mayhem' was a Minigame that I attempted to make. It didn't work out how I planned it to. Though it's something I plan to go back on and fix.
Name: Modern Apartment
Player Count: 2-4
Gametype: Aesthetic
Yeaa Modern Apartment was a map I spontaneously began building one day cause I was bored. The map has received positive feedback and multiple features which I am very grateful for. I learned many new techniques through the map so I guess I'm happy with it...
Name: Lictor - 1v1 Concept Design
Player Count: 1-2
Gametype: Slayer
Lictor was a concept design for a 1v1 map that I was planning. It's essentially a figure of eight, nothing special about it.
Name: The One
Player Count: 2-4
Gametype: Slayer
The One is a symmetrical 2v2 map. It is a roomed based design which focuses on the central atrium which you can see in the picture above.
Name: Luna
Player Count: 1-2
Gametype: Slayer
Luna is a Nexn design which Auburn adopted back in Halo Reach. Note that I did not design this map, but I've been given approval to forge it in Halo4. Not much to look at atm
That's really it for Halo4. I'll be adding my Halo Reach timeline at some point too, thank you for reading
