Happy Thursday! The first week in April is drawing to a close, and that's good news for us because lots of great stuff is coming next week.
Castle is Coming
With all the info coming out before PAX East it's amazing they still have more to show us. Though I'm sure the hype train still has plenty of momentum to keep us excited for the new maps coming.
343i has started to come out with new information about the forthcoming map pack. They already dropped the new achievement list on us yesterday. Click the image below if you're into that sort of thing...
You read that title correctly! 343i really outdid themselves this time. Not only do we get a free map, but it's ahead of schedule too! You can download it from the Xbox Live Marketplace now! Gogogo.
If you haven't been keeping up, here's a sample of the new forge pallet you'll be seeing in Forge Island. Now, here's the real question. WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS?! If you haven't already booted up Halo 4 by now and started downloading this bad boy, I highly suggest you do so.
Also, I heard that some of you apparently have this thing called school? Not exactly sure what you mean by that, but in case you can't download the map right at this very moment, go to this page and you'll be able to queue the map for...
Hello again, I hope you had a good relaxing weekend. I know I sure did.
Major Nelson surprised us this morning with a treat of castles. Castle Map Pack that is.
The third and final map pack of Halo 4 looks to be the best of all. Which needs a lot to live up to the Majestic Map Pack.
Check out the video here:
What we're in for:
Two UNSC bases oppose each other in this large asymmetrical map. Teams must split focus between attacking the enemy base while playing close defense to their own. Claim your team’s sniper rifle to cover the central Man Cannon, or grab a Warthog to push through the side channels and flank the enemy base. The Rocket Launcher and Banshee both spawn in positions diagonal to the starting bases; claiming their firepower early is crucial to land the first...
In this weeks bulletin we get an interview with Greg Bear, apparently one of the Halo novel writers in charge of the Forerunner novels.
Give it a read if that's your dig.
BTB Objective, where art thou?
This was a little further down in the update so it might have been missed, but it's still important news. For those of you that are missing out of your favorite BTB Objective, 343i gives a glimpse of hope:
From Dr Dorado: When do we get some info regarding BTB Objective?
We are currently brainstorming different ways of bringing a large party-friendly playlist...
Finally! It's true! After four months of having to painstakingly surf through Halo 4's in-game file searching menu to download our favorite custom content, we finally have our good 'ole file browsing system back on Waypoint!
That's right. I can hear your left thumbstick rejoicing right now. No more tedious scrolling through the letters and numbers of the dreaded Xbox Live keyboard to find oXxSn1p3Rxx5k1llzxX's newest map, only to realize you mistakenly clicked on the Gametype search bar.
Because if your left thumbstick had a face, it would look like Simon Cowell.
Granted, things are just a little bit different this time around. While it's not as simple to download files as it was back in the days of Halo 3 or Reach, it's still much more convenient than it has been these past four months. Read...
343i just released a new vidoc and a host of new images on the forthcoming Majestic Map Pack. As people have been clamoring to get any and all information on the DLC releasing next week, it's nice to finally know what it is we're getting in the form of gorgeous visuals. The Majestic Map Pack consists of three small-to-medium sized maps that are designed around infantry combat (obviously) and are planted on vastly different locales in the Halo universe. Also interesting to note are the gloriously detailed animated skyboxes, mmm. Anyway, I'm done talking, have at it.
343i released a new Halo Bulletin that you can check out *here*. Here to give you a quick summary is yours truly.
In-game Fileshare now WORKING!
For a community like us, this is a HUGE update. The in-game file search is now fully functional. You can look up the most popular variants, the most recommended and even check out the most recent maps put into the fileshare cloud. With all of the new working filters for us to search for, it will be exciting for us to see what hidden gems we can find on others’ fileshares. Hopefully the web-based fileshare compliment will be along within this...
Hey you - yea, that's right, you. Do you ever feel Halo 4 has lost that competitive aspect that once defined the series? Do you ever grow weary of the instant respawn system, or feel that personal loadouts have turned the game in a direction too similar to [insert other unnamed FPS here]? Well fret no more, my friends! The wonderful people over at 343i have been listening to all your gripes and groans this whole time! Coming mid-February is an all-new playlist aimed directly at pleasing the competitive Halo community.

No guests allowed

Rumors surrounding the next iteration of Microsoft's XBOX are finally starting to heat up, and I am happy about it. How happy are you, Lights? Happier than a Grunt on his birthday. There's one important new development about its, um, development (?), and one about its much-anticipated reveal.
Microsoft just acquired R2 Studios- whose head honcho is the brainchild of the Slingbox- with big visions of turning the next-gen XBOX, codenamed Durango, into a true set-top box. R2 Studios focuses heavily on home-automation, which is not something Microsoft is new to, necessarily, but should make significant headway in going commercial and making it more practical for the everyday user...
