This year's E3 began on a sombre note, fortunately though that didn't last.
Microsoft were straight in for the kill with the recently leaked Xbox One S. 40% Smaller with an integrated PSU, HDR, internal storage up to 2tb, an updated controller and has the ability to be vertically mounted. Exciting stuff for those of us with limited space. Releases in August, starting from $299.
Next up we had some Gears of War 4. but before getting into the gory details, cross play was announced both in matchmaking and ownership of the game. Exciting stuff. This new initiative is called "Xbox Play Anywhere". Buy it once and play both on Xbox One and PC!
Following this announcement we got to take a look at some fresh Gears of War 4 campaign gameplay. Looks pretty. You can check it out above.
Finishing off the Gears coverage is was a pretty Kickass Gears themed Elite controller.
Next up we have some Killer instinct coverage, but wait... it's still Gears of War themed. General Ramm is coming to KI today and will be playable for free for the entire of this week. So why not give him a whirl?
Forza Horizon 3, Australia, utterly gorgeous and another Xbox Play Anywhere title. Boasts 4 player campaign co-op and the largest roster of cars ever. Make sure you check out the Forza coverage both above and below. Comes out September 27th.
Next up an interesting Sci-fi third person action game that looks utterly charming and very vivid and colourful. called Recore and is another Xbox Play Anywhere title.
Now onto some Final Fantasy XV, complete with a gameplay demo on Xbox One. The sequence shown had a very much "Attack on Titan" vibe to it. If that's your thing? Why not check out the footage for yourself?
An Ubisoft title now, it's a new expansion for the Division and it's coming to Xbox One first on June 28th.
Big cheers for Battlefield One, EA access subscribers can play first on October 13th. Check out the new trailer below, it's certainly shaping up to being one of the most exciting games this year.
Mike Ybarra takes the stage, boasts improvements coming to Xbox Live servers across the globe and further promoting cross play (which seems to the be this year's theme, so long TV and Kinect!).
Background Music, Cortana and the ability to determine your spoken language regardless of where you reside are all coming soon. But that's not all...
Clubs officially announced, along with an official LFG app. A tournament app called Xbox Arena is on the horizon also. All of this coming in "the fall".
Onto Minecraft now, Dedicated servers with crossplay across multiple devices that run "pocket edition". Texture packs and "add ons" coming to these versions of the game also, think of these like the mods you can find on the original Java based version of the game. As a reminder you can play this cross-compatible version of Minecraft on Windows 10, iOS, and Android devices as well as GearVR.
Custom Xbox controllers all around with Xbox Design Lab, RIP controller mods.
A new game from the creators of Limbo, looks just as atmospherically bleak. Is called "Inside" and launches on June 29th. Limbo is also free on Xbox One right now, download it here.
