Guys, I know this is kind of late and stuffs, but, regarding that first look video, which I've just stumbled on today, Is anyone else pumped about how they're going back to the core of what made a Halo game Halo, 4v4 arena gameplay, fair starts, arena style maps? I am so pumped for this game all of a sudden!!

EDIT: Also, LOCKOUT. LOCKOUT!!!

Is it just me that read that leaked list and saw campaign will be split into 3 as DLC? So what are we paying full price of a game for to receive 1/3 of the game?
I strongly hope this is bullshit. I'm sick of the way games are being made these days... Chopping huge chunks of games out and selling them back to you for another 50% on what you've already paid.

Also; AI on MP maps is a bad idea. Why is there a need for AI in a PvP arena? PvE areas need to be built for PvE.

Honestly really hope these leaks are false claims like insane said , but not because they're too good to be true, because they're mostly horrible representations of how publishers control the markets these days and milk money from you constantly.

I'm not sure if you read the whole thing but it says that on third of the campaign is the size of a full campaign from previous halo games so the campaign will be 3 times as big. also I'm pretty sure that he said that the DLC for the campaign would be free which means that they would not be finished working on it, so they want us to have the game nice and early with every thing completed then suddenly you find out that they are bringing even more to the already finished campaign and that it would be coming in another two parts the size of a full campaign, and it would all be for free and the only reason you don't have it now is because they are making it look even better along with making the campaign as good a story as possible.

Nah, I highly, highly doubt it will be free content. (It says May or May not be free). Every game released these days has DLC that you have to pay another 50% of the price for. If the story gets released in thirds... How can you even consider purchasing H6 to close off the trilogy knowing you may/may not have had to purchase over 50% of the storyline you're missing?
H3: ODST was fine, it was a new game as an expansion. The story was separate. It wasn't a necessity to continue the story through it, so like DLC, it's optional.
As I understand it, these two DLC story lines aren't separate or optional... They tell the rest of the tale. Something which will continue on in H6.
Maybe I'm just being cynical... But I can only see this as another publisher milking the money as opposed to the creators wanting to tell the best story they can.

A lot of negatives aside; the game itself does excite me... I just miss the days where you could buy a game, a complete game, and understand and enjoy it fully and THEN receive DLC to make your enjoyment last even longer.

Considering it is leaked information and the release date is a long way away, we have to take the information with a grain of sand (is the saying grain of sand or grain of salt? no matter). I agree with you that the entire story should be on the disc and not as DLC (paid or unpaid) but considering Bonny Ross has stated that they want to stop numbering the Halo series and if the leaked info is right about 2-3 hour long campaign missions, it could very well be that "Halo 5" will have a large enough campaign that it will span Halo 5, Halo 6, and possibly Halo 7. Just speculation of course.

Alright peeps, I don't know who will take the time to read this, but I need to put this down.

Halo 5, as it looks now, is a pot of beef stew with rotten vegetables. That implies that I can see potential, but there needs to be major changes to the gameplay. What I am going to put below will probably have most of you agreeing with it. The others may stick to what they want.

Before reading the below, let this be known; This is my honest opinion on what should change and what should stay.

Sprint. This right here has been the greatest hassle to Halo's movement decisions, and should be removed by the full release. Even if it is nerfed again in this iteration of H5, it won't make the game truly shine if it stays. Instead, the movement should boost to 40% of the base movement we are familiar with in H1 and H2. This, along with a very responsive strafe, and the Thruster, would make this game damn good movement wise. Speaking of Thruster...

Thruster. One of the most interesting things you can do in a fight on H4 was boost to any direction, catching your enemy off guard. I like that it is back in H5, but sprint alongside it makes it less of a good tool. With faster movement, it can be more of a juking ability. The boost itself will probably be 20% less than the movement, but will decrease auto aim on yourself when performed. Also, using it in the air can open a window to crazy out-play scenarios.

Slide. Not as prevalent as I thought compared to the other things shown. Shouldn't exist.

Slam. I think instead of relying on Sprint to make this work, I think it should be what happens if you Thrust directly forward and press the melee button at the same time. It should change to a first person view and be easy to spot and dodge. If it connects, the enemy's shields and half their health is removed, along with a single second stun. However, the connect also means the player has a cool-down animation slightly longer than the enemy stun, to give smarter players a chance to fight back.

Clamber. It is an addition that ruins the skill of tactical jumping, along with spring jumping. I would suggest removing it, and making it instead a different Spartan Ability, Spring. This is activated when you crouch, jump, and press the Thrust button at the same time. The boost of the jump would be a 40% increase, but will make your Thruster cool down after 4 seconds. You reach higher ground at the cost of not using it again immediately.

Smart Scope. As it is now, it could use many changes. I would suggest a Plus/Minus system for each weapon when using Smart Scope, similar to how weapons functioned in H1 when having camo or the ability to stun. Examples would be BR having double the RRR, but you can't see the bottom area of the screen, or AR having a warning light for oncoming enemies but fires slower, etc. Things like that to increase the meta for each individual weapon.

Smash. Very impressed with how it works, but there could definitely be changes. One; instead of have to press the crouch button, I would suggest double tapping the Melee button and then float in the air for 2 seconds searching for a spot to land. Two; it should not kill a target when you land, rather it should copy the same idea for the Slam ability. These changes allow the ability to Ghandi Hop to still exist, and also give a higher risk to the reward.

Additional Changes I would like made.

-Auditory hitmarker along with the visual isn't good. Get rid of that.

-Power Weapon spawns should at the very least be 2 minute intervals.

-Spartans shouldn't be talking constantly. Should only give out callouts every thirty seconds, and only that when the player has no Mic.

-Decrease the amount of medals.

-Decrease the amount of new announcements.

-Remove Hovering while using Smart Scope.

So there you have it. In my opinion, this is what I think should happen. Then H5 can be a really fun game.

I agree on some points there, but I mostly disagree. I believe the Slide move will be neat and Ground Pound is just awful. Also there should be absolutely no third person perspective for any of these moves, it draws away from the feeling of actually being the Spartan. Auditory hitmarker is okay. I think if you had an AI it would give a little beep or something to notify you that you hit your target. The medals and announcements don't really matter to gameplay in my opinion. Clamber is good in my opinion, doesn't require one to have to do those special jumps. (Though I could be putting my foot in my mouth.) All in all it looks okay. The only thing I have a problem with is Ground Pound. The shields not recharging when using Sprint is okay, but it's not all that good, it still needs a tweek. Maybe a cool down time till when you can aim again. *insert Spartan breathing heavy for two seconds*
I think that's all I have to say about it. Until we see how it actually plays personally we can't be too sure of how we'll like it.

I really want to see these movement options work while also bringing a competitive and balanced gameplay. I really like the thruster but would honestly prefer to see an evade instead. I personally really want a game that has more movement options like Titanfall and Destiny but actually pull them off. I also realize that Halo's identity has always been the minimal movement options. From the sounds of things, Smart Scope is just an excuse to put ADS in the game without taking away the functionality that you don't need to have to ADS in Halo. All in all I am excited to see exactly how 343i will pull this off but also dreading it.

oh and interesting article: http://www.theverge.com/2014/11/11/7186255/hal-5-guardians-preview
