Greetings one and all to this recap of this year's Xbox E3 Briefing. If you'd rather watch the entire event you can watch it on demand here. Otherwise, read on!

This year's E3 began on a sombre note, fortunately though that didn't last.

Microsoft were straight in for the kill with the recently leaked Xbox One S. 40% Smaller with an integrated PSU, HDR, internal storage up to 2tb, an updated controller and has the ability to be vertically mounted. Exciting stuff for those of us with limited space. Releases in August, starting from $299.

Xbox-Play-Anywhere.jpg

Next up we had some Gears of War 4. but before getting into the gory details, cross play was announced both in matchmaking and ownership of the game. Exciting stuff. This new initiative is called "Xbox Play Anywhere". Buy it once and play both on Xbox One and PC!

Following this announcement we got to take a look at some fresh Gears of War 4 campaign gameplay. Looks pretty. You can check it out above.

Finishing off the Gears coverage is was a pretty Kickass Gears themed Elite controller.

Next up we have some Killer instinct coverage, but wait... it's still Gears of War themed. General Ramm is coming to KI today and will be playable for free for the entire of this week. So why not give him a whirl?

Forza Horizon 3, Australia, utterly gorgeous and another Xbox Play Anywhere title. Boasts 4 player campaign co-op and the largest roster of cars ever. Make sure you check out the Forza coverage both above and below. Comes out September 27th.

Next up an interesting Sci-fi third...

Introduction
Hello ladies and gentle-forgers, and welcome to the fourth iteration of the Meet Your Maker forge contest! Halo 5 introduced an incredible new suite of game mechanics, as well as the most powerful Forge in Halo history. With most players now well versed in both the gameplay and the new systems, we felt that it was time to put your skills to the test! MYM is back and bigger than ever, with judges from 3 different websites and partnerships with many more.

Reflecting this growth in scope the contest has taken on, you the forgers are tasked with tackling the largest-scale arena mode that Halo has to offer: Big Team Battle. That's right, the maps that we are looking for will be designed for full-scale, 8 vs. 8 player combat! This is an opportunity to explore the full suite of sandbox options available in Halo 5, as well as to really push the new forge to its limits. Of course, there's more to making a great BTB map that just making it big, they still need to play tight and fast paced! We can't wait to see what kind of incredible, original designs come out of this contest. Good luck, and happy forging!

Greetings one and all, for it is that slightly overdue time to cover this week's Deals with Gold!

There is quite a lot on offer this week on both systems making it quite difficult to make a fair recommendation.

Over on Xbox One there seems to be a focus on indie titles. The best value of which is OlliOlli, a hard as nails 2D arcade skateboarding game at 80% off. I've played it on PC and it's pretty fun.

Over on Xbox 360 is what Microsoft is branding the "Super Sale". There is a selection backwards compatible titles on offer as well as other popular titles. I mark content that is backwards compatible with :awesome: and titles that have been confirmed to become backwards compatible but are not yet available will be marked with a humble :doge:.

As per the usual, all of this week's deals for both systems can be found below;

Always-Know-Where-Your-Towel-Is-Towel-Day-May-25.png

The HaloCustoms staff would like to wish all of you hoopy froods out there a most magnificent Towel Day! Every year on May 25th (Earth calendar), interstellar hitchhikers such as ourselves take some time out of our day to appreciate the wondrous invention that is the towel. If you are new to the art of towelistry, or just looking for a refresher, here are some common uses for what is about the most massively useful thing one can have:

So how does one go about celebrating this occasion? First and foremost: ALWAYS KNOW WHERE YOUR TOWEL IS! Keeping a towel with you for the entirety of the day isn't necessary, but yes it is, obviously, quite necessary, and I was lying to you when I said it wasn't. If you are looking to liven things up a bit, you could try preparing a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster, the drink described as the alcoholic equivalent of a mugging; expensive and bad for the head. For a more relaxing experience, raise your thumb and see where hitchhiking can take you, such as down the road 3 blocks before you are kicked out for your terrible singing voice, or kidnapped and held for ransom by Australian candy burglars.

However you choose to celebrate, make sure you have Zarking good time this Towel Day!

You most definitely did not read that wrong because I thought I did at first! Halo 5: Guardians Forge is coming to Windows 10 PCs later this year! The forge team at 343 Industries has, once again, dropped the mic to go above and beyond again to grace our PCs with the glory that is Forge - Halo 5: Guardians Edition for Windows 10 PCs. Not only will Forge - Halo 5: Guardians Edition include forge but on top of that we're receiving the FULL custom games experience with all arena maps and gametypes included (however you can only invite players from your friends list). Did I forget to mention that its free?

This is huge for avid forgers and PC gamers alike. What is everybody's take on this? Does anyone else have a gaming PC standing by, ready to take on the bull that is Forge - Halo 5: Guardians Edition by the horns? Are you considering getting (adderrson and I would recommend building one ;)) a gaming PC now? Discuss or post a related reaction image below.

Meanwhile, take a gander at the whopping ton of info below that we've got from multiple sources on Forge - Halo 5: Guardians Edition.

START_TRANSMISSION:

An interesting week is upon us once more for shooter fans.

Over on Xbox One this week Just Cause 3 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can both be picked up for 50% Off. Both of which being AAA titles from the end of last year that you may not have gotten around to playing yet. It's also worth noting that Battlefield 4 Final Stand is free this week to add to your Battlefield DLC collection.

On Xbox 360 an exciting turn of events has occurred. Call of Duty: Black Ops is currently 75% off and is now officially Backwards Compatible as of today! I've already tested this one out. The framerates in Multiplayer are a bit patchy but is silky smooth and well optimised in the game's signature 'Zombies' mode. Unfortunately the DLC isn't on sale also. But I would recommend the Rezurrection pack to bulster up your total amount of maps for the mode to 7. Anyone for some Kino? :p

Just as a reminder for you all when you look at the 360 deals, I mark content that is backwards compatible with :awesome: and titles that have been confirmed to become backwards compatible but are not yet available will be marked with a humble :doge:.

As per the usual, all of this week's deals for both systems can be found below;...

All good things must come to an end. Compared to the last 2 weeks of sale items, it's truly slim pickings. :p

On Xbox One the highlight here is Elite Dangerous Standard Edition at 50% off. From what I hear it's one of the best 'space combat' games out there right now. It's known for being a stellar VR game on PC, but there's no reason it can't be an enjoyable experience on the Xbox One also.

Over on Xbox 360, this week's sale is looking a bit fishy... My recommendation lies simply with the GRID 2 All-In Pack at 50% off. This is certainly a situational recommendation however. If you've been playing Grid 2 recently to your own enjoyment via Games with Gold, buy this to make it the complete experience. Otherwise, I'd pass on everything on this week's 360 list.

Just as a reminder for you all when you look at the 360 deals, I mark content that is backwards compatible with :awesome:.

If you thought last week was pretty good, it 'ain't got a patch on this week's sale.

With discounts as high as 100% off and a selection of Halo titles on sale, what more could you ask for. Saying that however, unfortunately Halo Wars isn't on sale. :(

On Xbox One the highlight of this weeks offerings is certainly the two items of DLC that are 100% off this week. The Battlefield 4 Dragon’s Teeth and Battlefield Hardline Robbery expansions are completely free this week. EA Access members can also get Battlefield Hardline Premium this week, absolutely free!

I've also noticed a lot of you sweating it out playing Sunset Overdrive recently, if you've been playing this a lot recently I'd also recommend the Sunset Overdrive Season Pass at 50% Off this week.

Over on Xbox 360 there is an absolute slew of backwards compatible content on offer this week, so have a browse and see if any of the compatible titles take your fancy. I mark content that is backwards compatible with :awesome: and titles that have been confirmed to become backwards compatible but are not yet available will be marked with a humble :doge:.

As per the usual, all of this week's deals for both systems can be found below;...

Oh has the time certainly flown by this April, and so have all the happenings on HaloCustoms. Instead of posting a recap for each individual event, we're going to end the month of April on HaloCustoms with a bang! Join us on this text-based ride as we recap all of the main events and announcements that took place this past April!
Note: Keep your hands inside the thread at all times!

___________________

Every year on HaloCustoms, we always do something silly on April 1st, whether it be rainbow colored names, upside-down text or even an experience that rendered HaloCustoms funny, yet extremely difficult to use (sorry about that!). Last year we've started a tradition to host a contest on every April 1st; to make the worst map ever. This was heavily influenced by a certain map that was named after the legendary Nikola Tesla that was potentially going to make its way into Season 2 of the Halo Championship Series in Halo 2: Anniversary.

This year's edition was truly a sight to behold. Due to certain circumstances (definitely not having to do with accidentally posting the announcement at the last minute ), forgers had to finish their map one week after the announcement, leaving most with 6 days, 23 hours and 45 minutes left to spare to finish their "sooper speshil" creations. In the end, we thank all forgers who created maps polished turds for this event! Enjoy the recap video!
