Unless you've been living under a rock, you know about our ongoing minigame competition, the quest for the penultimate minigame. There were 32 submissions, but only one can be crowned champion, and win the title of "The Best Halo 4 Minigame". There are, however, real prizes to be had for our fair contestants.

The person who wins the title will be awarded a unique and custom modded controller, courtesy of GamerModz.com. It's Halo-themed and optionally includes their SPS-X2 rapidfire modification. They'll also win a Halo-themed Xbox skin (shown below), which is super sick. You should click through to that link to find out more about them, because they're awesome. Really. In total, this top prize is worth roughly $200. PRIZES! YEAH!

Second, the top FIVE maps will win a Ghost prop for their Xbox avatar dude, courtesy of 343 Industries. In addition, in each round of voting, one person who has playtested the maps and then voted will be awarded a Ghost prop, coming out to FIVE more Ghost props.

I like to imagine now you're asking yourself: "So how do I participate?" The answer is quite simple! Just head on over to the minigame boards on the site, download the maps, and vote for your favorites. There's also a live bracket that will update with each round, so you can track your favorite map. I encourage you to bring your friends in, help your favorite map win the contest and the goodies involved! The more votes you can get, the more chance your favorite map has to win! You can also access the brackets by clicking the big links below.

So, how is the Minigame Bracket laid out?
Due to the format of the implemented bracket system, there's been a bit of confusion on how the rounds have been organized. So let's clear that up! In the first round of the competition there are 8 groups, consisting of 4 minigames each (as you can see here).Only one minigame from each group will advance to the next round, leaving 8 minigames total for Round 2. At this point, it turns into a traditional head-to-head style bracket where the minigames are grouped in sets of two. So when we get to the second round, the viewable bracket will reflect the tournament set-up accordingly. Hopefully this cleared some things up! However if there's still any confusion let us know, and we will explain in further detail.

So after the first round when will the mini-games be tested in a lobby. Or will the mini games go through the voting system all the way through.

Is it a problem that you don't know most of these minigames in this competition?

    Quick question.

The brackets clearly show 1-on-1 pairings, however the voting is in 4-way groups? Which one of these is the more official grouping? Are the winners of each pairing from each group going to move on? Seems wrong if I wanted to vote for two different games not paired against each other in the brackets but paired via the polls.

Just trying to make sense of the irregularity.

What Legundo said - I'd like to know the answer as well.

While the brackets and the post don't show it well, only one game mode from each group will be moving on. (Confirmed by Dax)

I figured that was the case, was just looking for clarification on that.

Yep. The contest bracket doesn't accurately reflect how the rounds will be run at the moment, but unfortunately there isn't really anything we can do to fix the way that bracket is set up. I've been meaning to amend this announcement page to explain things but I've been a little busy this morning..

Anyway, here's a basic explanation of how things will work. In the first round, there are 8 groups of 4 minigames each (as you can see here).Only one minigame from each group will advance to the next round, leaving 8 minigames total for Round 2. At this point, it turns into a traditional head-to-head style bracket where the minigames are grouped in sets of two.

So when we get to the second round, the viewable bracket will reflect the tournament set-up accordingly. Hopefully this cleared some things up! If there's still any confusion let me know, and I will attempt to explain in further detail.

It's really great seeing some of you guys hosting minigame lobbies for the contest voting so far. I got in on Shiralai's lobby earlier and it was a lot of fun, I heard Charles Stoot's was pretty good too! Keep up the awesome work! Hope to see even more in the coming days :)

Please respond, my map was not on the bracket list! I spent a lot of time on it so if you could please add it on or tell me why It is not on the list that would be great. And yes, it was on submission page! the map is Cat n' Mice and the game type was Claws and Madness. Thanks.

TyranicSlayer, there was some debate about your submission. The purpose of the contest was to submit your own unique minigame. However, Cat n' Mouse is an already existing popular gametype, therefore we didn't feel right putting it through to the voting stage. Really sorry about that.

Thanks for responding, I guess I should of read the description more carefully. Do you know of any other map contests coming up?
